Linked fields are greyed out and you cannot toggle on the field. This article will help you to troubleshoot.
Our property app above has a linked field to the Clients table from the Team table. The field cannot be toggled on because the Clients table has been toggled off.
We need to ensure the Clients table is toggled on for access to the linked field.
Go to App Settings -> Data sources -> Toggle on table
The Clients field can now be toggled on in the Team table.
